RISE & WIN Brewing Co. KAMIKATZ, the beer brewer from Zero Waste Town Kamikatsu, has created a completely circular beer, the reRise Pale Ale. KAMIKATZ has been striving to achieve zero waste in its operations, and the new brew moves it closer to its goal.

As mentioned, reRise beer is made from a completely circular system. Using the output and byproducts like malt dregs and wastewater from the factory, KAMIKATZ turns them into liquid fertilizer composed mainly of lactic acid bacteria and amino acids. This new fertilizer will then be used to grow wheat, which will subsequently be used in brewing the KAMIKATZ’s beer. Not only does KAMIKATZ turn food waste into a usable resource but has also managed to design out waste and move Kamikatsu Town towards its goal of 100%.
