Exploring Inclusivity: SOLIT’s groundbreaking event fostering Diversity

SOLIT, a pioneer in creating an all-inclusive society through fashion, is currently hosting its first large-scale pop-up shop called “This is SOLIT!” in the Wellbeing Town “GREEN SPRINGS.” The event promises a unique experience, showcasing the latest in sustainability and D&I, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity for all people, flora, fauna, and the environment.

The impetus behind “This is SOLIT!” lies in SOLIT’s journey since 2020. They have been fearlessly expressing a vision for an all-inclusive society that embraces diversity, using fashion as their platform. This groundbreaking event expands their reach beyond fashion, allowing a wider audience to immerse themselves in the world they envision.

The event, aptly titled “This is SOLIT!,” offers an all-inclusive space where everyone can feel at ease and enjoy their own way. It represents the cutting-edge of sustainability and D&I and the society SOLIT is striving to create. The venue is thoughtfully divided into several areas, each presenting a different aspect of all-inclusiveness. Let’s explore what awaits in each unique space.

In the Shop Space, visitors can touch, try, and buy a variety of SOLIT items. The friendly staff is on hand to provide support and guidance, making the shopping experience truly enjoyable.

The Philosophy Zone offers a glimpse into the current social issues within the fashion industry, as well as SOLIT’s innovative solutions to these problems. It is a space for discovery, where visitors can explore creative ways to minimize environmental impact and make fashion enjoyable for everyone, regardless of disability.

The Play Space provides a selection of games that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, nationalities, and abilities. For instance, “LINKAGE,” a tactile game inspired by “Touch Talk,” allows players to feel each other’s finger movements during play. Another game, “TELEPATHI,” fosters disability awareness through a communication challenge that involves “not seeing,” “not hearing,” and “not speaking.”

The All-Inclusive Tool Storage, located near the entrance, is a testament to the event’s commitment to inclusivity. Here, visitors will find tools to limit visual and auditory input, secure personal space, neck straps to indicate preferred interaction, as well as wheelchairs and canes.

Tired visitors can sit in a wheelchair to view the exhibits or use a cane to navigate the space. For those uncomfortable speaking to staff, neck straps can signal “do not talk to me,” and headphones are available to block sound for those who prefer visual information.

So, on this final weekend, why not journey to Tachikawa City and experience this extraordinary event? Here are the event details
