Rejuvenate your body and soul at inclusive retreat space Haluta Hakuba

Surrounded by the resplendent nature of the Northern Alps, Hakuba Village in Nagano Prefecture attracts mountaineers in summer and skiers/snowboarders in winter. This beautiful village will welcome a new luxury wellness retreat Haluta Hakuba in December 2019, where guests can rejuvenate their body and soul with nutritious culinary experiences, a medical spa, and wellness activities provided in an eco-friendly setting.

The company behind this project, Haluta.co., has been developing various businesses such as the import and sale of vintage Danish furniture, landscape and architectural design, and operating a Danish bakery. The launch of Haluta Hakuba will mark its first steps in the lodging business. With a 3-dimensional approach represented by comfortable lodging, physical wellness, and healthy eating, the company aims to provide an inclusive retreat space where guests can “return to their true selves.”

The two-storey resort, which was previously used as accommodation for skiers, will be a well-insulated space where the optimal indoor temperature control allows guests to pass the time comfortably in any season without the use of heating or air conditioning. The resort is built with Rockwool insulation, a multifaceted material that is resilient to environmental factors such as noise, vibration, heat, and fire, making it a durable space that can be passed down from generation to generation. The second floor will have eight guest rooms in total, all of which will be equipped with Nordic vintage furniture and interior goods provided by Haluta.

The first floor of Haluta Hakuba will be equipped with a steam bath facility, where guests can boost their immune systems while absorbing a mineral mist. Various holistic programs will also be provided, such as yoga and Chi Nei Tsang (an ancient Chinese abdominal massage that brings health benefits such as stress relief and smooth digestion).

The Bio Kiosk will provide various organic ingredients (vegetables, natural wines, Danish Rye Bread, and more) and amenities that guests might need during their stay. Guests will have access to the communal kitchen, so they can prepare their own meals using ingredients purchased at the Bio Kiosk. Additionally, they also have the option of enjoying healthy, organic meals prepared with locally grown and harvested ingredients.

While regular vacations can give you an opportunity to rest and relax, a retreat can be a time for conscious reflection and change, providing you a holistic opportunity for some self-reflection. In this carefully designed environment, guests can unwind both physically and psychologically, and make a fresh start in their lives.
