Sustainability-focused web media and support services Harch Inc will showcase its initiatives at the Circular Partnership EXPO, part of SDGs Week EXPO 2024 (EcoPro), held at Tokyo Big Sight from this coming Wednesday till Friday.
SDGs Week EXPO 2024 is a large-scale exhibition centred around building a sustainable society by fostering connections across different fields. The Circular Partnership EXPO, a key part of this event, seeks to position the circular economy as a vital engine for Japan’s future growth. This year’s Circular Partnership EXPO will host approximately 60 companies and organizations, including members of the Circular Partners, a public-private partnership initiative launched by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in 2023. The event aims to foster collaboration among stakeholders dedicated to implementing the circular economy in Japan.
Together with Archetype Ventures, Harch will display its achievements in the circular economy, encouraging visitors interested in its social impact to visit their booth. Highlights include initiatives such as the Circular Startup Tokyo program, a collaboration with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government aimed at fostering circular startups, the “Circular City Transition Guide” published with Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, and the “Gamagori Data Explorer,” created in partnership with Aichi Prefecture and Circle Economy. Harch will also present their Europe-based unit’s “Sustainable City Guidebook” and the short documentary, “Repair Café,” produced by IDEAS FOR GOOD.
Harch Inc CEO Yu Kato will present on December 5, discussing the process of municipalities transitioning to circular cities and the role of corporate collaboration. This presentation, titled “The Process of Municipalities Transitioning to a Circular City and Collaboration with Companies,” will take place from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Additionally, a separate session titled “Circular Economy at the Forefront – Advanced Cases in Europe and Domestic Circular Startups Pitches” will be held from 3:00 PM to 3:50 PM. This session will feature IDEAS FOR GOOD co-editor-in-chief Erika Toyama, Harch’s European representative Megumi Ito, and Maki Kimura from Circular Economy Hub as the host.
Admission to SDGs Week EXPO 2024 is free, with advance registration required.
