Dijilumi helps people with disabilities turn hobbies into career

Media Solution Co. Ltd. opened a new style of Type B continuous employment support last month called “Dijilumi,” specializing in subcultures in Fuji City. Apart from working closely with general companies to increase opportunities for people with disabilities, Dijilumi’s aim is to create a comfortable environment where individuals can spend time with like-minded friends and pursue their interests with peace of mind, believing in learning and then making use of it in each individual’s work. Dijilumi also offers free training with no hidden costs.

Between 2006 and 2021, the population of people with disabilities in Japan increased by approximately 3 million, and currently, about 9.5 million people or 7.6% of the Japanese population have disabilities. Dijilumi provides employment opportunities, production activities, and other necessary knowledge and skills for individuals who find it difficult to work under a general employment contract.

In modern times, the number of people choosing to work as freelancers is on the rise, and data suggests that in 2020, 15.77 million people or 22.8% of Japan’s working population will be freelancers. With the growing demand for IT-related freelancers, the need for creative skills is increasing year by year.

To address this, Dijilumi aims to be a new type of business that specializes in creative skills and subcultures, supporting continuous employment as a next-generation Type B business. It currently has over 13,000 offices nationwide, and some of their staff come from other industries who have joined them to make a difference and stabilize their business. Dijilumi’s goal is to improve the quality of life for each individual, leveraging 17 years of know-how and experience as care workers and consultation support specialists to realize what each person truly wants to do and make full use of the welfare system.

Dijilumi offers various features to support its users, dedicated to helping users turn their hobbies and interests into careers, and colleagues who share the same dream can work together. Users can proceed at their own pace, and they can complete their work together with the support of others.

There are many courses available at Dijilumi to help users acquire new skills in their favorite subjects to achieve their dreams. If a course is not available, users can contact them, and they will do their best to prepare teaching materials and collaborate with instructors to make it happen.

Courses include video production, anime and character design, graphic design, and more. (Image: digilumi.jp)

Dijilumi also provides social experiences through participation in various events and performances. They believe that these social experiences can help users become more themselves and participate more in society. They create opportunities for users to communicate with different people and expand their future.

To support everyone who wants to become a creator, Dijilumi has established a “Dijilumi Cheer Team.” This team consists of professional seniors and famous creators who cheer for everyone’s encouragement.
