Christmas-themed zero waste
This December, our friends at Circular Yokohama are bringing together locals and internationals for a Christmas-themed cultural exchange centered on zero waste. Their “Zero-Waste Crafting” activity will help participants practice language skills while also promoting sustainability and having a great time! Participants will make handmade Christmas wreaths using fabric scraps, a creative, hands-on way to learn about zero waste while making memories.
The event will be held at the charming “qlaytion gallery” at Hoshiten Qlay, blending language learning, cultural exchange, and community building in a circular economy setting. The gallery regularly hosts events focused on resource circulation, and this year’s Christmas gathering will be no exception.
Why zero waste?
Zero waste is a concept needed more than ever. Beyond just recycling, it encourages reducing waste at the source and making thoughtful choices to minimize our environmental impact. During this event, you’ll get to experience the zero-waste lifestyle firsthand by crafting beautiful wreaths from leftover fabric. This simple, engaging activity is perfect for all ages and is a fun way to learn creative ways to cut down on waste.
Whether you are a beginner or fluent in either English or Japanese, this is a safe and welcoming environment to practice your skills while connecting with others in the spirit of sustainability and holiday cheer.
