Fermenstation Inc., which focuses on unique fermentation technologies, has recently joined forces with Takagamori Ark Farm, a 100-hectare ranch in Iwate Prefecture, to breathe new life into surplus dried lavender, mint, and honey.
Beginning 28 April, the two companies will unveil a range of toners, emulsions, and fragrance mists that harness the power of Fermenstation’s organic rice ethanol extraction process. These environmentally friendly products will be available at the Ark Takagamori farm market and other select locations.
What sets this partnership apart is its commitment to circular agriculture and organic farming practices. By tapping into the power of mature compost derived from pig excrement and food waste, Ark Takagamori has been able to cultivate wheat, herbs, and vegetables without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers. This eco-conscious approach aligns perfectly with Fermenstation’s ethos of repurposing unused resources, laying the groundwork for a truly sustainable collaboration.
At the heart of this venture is a shared vision for a greener future, one in which waste is transformed into valuable resources. The products developed by Fermenstation and Ark Takagamori incorporate over 95% natural ingredients, offering consumers a guilt-free way to nourish their skin. Moreover, their fragrance mists boast a refreshing scent derived from upcycled dried mint, providing an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional synthetic fragrances.
The Ark Takagamori Fragrance Mist Mint lotion and emulsion, priced at 1,500 yen for a 30ml bottle, has a mint scent derived from mint extract and natural essential oils, and the lotion offers quick absorption and over 95% natural ingredients, while the emulsion has a smooth texture. The product features unused dried mint extract, organic rice ethanol from JAS organic rice, and is 100% natural, free of mineral oil, synthetic coloring, preservatives, fragrances, UV absorbers, and petroleum-based surfactants.
