TOYOUKE STAND, a unique cafe concept, is bringing “fortune-enhancing sweets” to Kyoto! This novel idea comes from TOYOUKE Inc., a conglomerate of experts with a keen focus on the burgeoning Web3.0 technology and the culinary industry.
Rooted in the principles of Feng Shui, where sweets are believed to usher in financial prosperity, the cafe meticulously selects ingredients traditionally offered in offerings to the deities. This practice not only purports to purify the body and soul but also to magnetize joy and good fortune towards its patrons.
The brand celebrated the inauguration of its pioneering establishment in Hong Kong and has recently unveiled its second venue in the historic district of Shijo Kawaramachi in Kyoto. This new outpost takes pride in its Japanese Royal Milk Tea, dubbed “Kami Enishi,” renowned for its exceptional quality. The cafe is also set to introduce the “Kami Musubi” fortune crepe, expanding its repertoire of premium Japanese desserts that resonate with local flavors and seasonal ingredients, all sourced domestically. The Royal Milk Tea, concocted with 100% Japanese ingredients, promises not only a delightful gustatory experience but also a boon for well-being.
The signature tea, a rich blend of deep-steamed green tea harvested from the first flush in Kakegawa, Shizuoka, is chosen for its seamless harmony with milk tea. Through a collaborative effort with local dairy and tea cultivators, TOYOUKE STAND has refined a distinctive brewing technique that accentuates the tea’s robust flavor and subtle bitterness. Complementing this is the warabi mochi, infused with genuine bracken starch, invoking the essence of traditional Japanese confections.
Behind the excellent ingredients and novelty, TOYOUKE STAND has set an ambitious goal to halve its food waste by 2030. Initiatives launched since August 2021 include repurposing used tea leaves into sweets and innovating with ingredients nearing expiration. Efforts also extend to producing amazake from aged rice, ensuring its continued viability for consumption, all under the banner of “Deliciously Reducing Food Loss.”
Beyond its culinary ventures, TOYOUKE STAND plays an active role in the community. A portion of the daily revenue from its sweets contributes to the Environmental Policy Bureau Resource Circulation Promotion Division of Kyoto City. The cafes also support local shrines, partake in neighborhood clean-up efforts, and collaborate with nearby restaurants and governmental bodies, all aimed at fostering a resilient and sustainable community.
