SEAL launches bag collection using upcycled Fujikura parachute fabric

Japanese bag brand SEAL (managed by Mondo Design) has released a new series of products made from authentic parachute fabric this month. Their FUJIKURA WHITE COLLECTION upcycles textiles from Fujikura Parachute, the only parachute manufacturer in Japan. This repurposes high-performance materials engineered for life-saving equipment into functional items for daily use.

The collection features a distinct white fabric with extreme strength and lightweight properties. The manufacturer applies a bonding process that incorporates padding between layers to adapt the industrial material for lifestyle goods. This technique creates a soft, voluminous texture that balances the nature of the fabric with a comfortable tactile experience. The design incorporates light grey tape accents to maintain a clean and modern aesthetic suitable for city environments.

SEAL introduces three models for their initial lineup. The FUJIKURA WHITE MINI is a compact bag weighing approximately 100 grams, designed for carrying essentials with an internal zip pocket and a carabiner for attachment to larger luggage. The FUJIKURA WHITE PACK is a 200-gram packable tote intended for shopping or travel. The third item, the FUJIKURA WHITE COOLER, is a soft insulated bag weighing 350 grams. It employs a five-layer structure including PE foam and aluminium evaporated film, providing enough capacity to hold several beverage containers for leisure activities.
