Discovering a Sustainable Future from Japan

Good Nature Hotel Kyoto starts offering Sustainable Activities

Kyoto is doubtlessly one of the most popular places to visit in Japan. It draws millions of tourists every year from both international and domestic. Accordingly, there are numerous hotels and accommodation plans to choose from if you plan to visit the city. What is your decisive factor in determining which hotel to stay? Could it be the location? Maybe dining options or transportation. But you might as well add ‘sustainability’ or ‘well-being’ to your checklist because there is a new hotel in Kyoto that could offer such a unique experience and satisfying accommodation.

Looking for the WELL Building Standard

Choosing a comfortable and clean room within the budget is not always easy, especially if it will be your first visit. Photos and reviews on the internet are useful, but they aren’t 100% reliable. That’s one reason why a third-party evaluation is much appreciated.

WELL Building Standard evaluates the well-being and wellness of buildings. It certifies environmentally friendly buildings, helps improve human health and supports the user’s well-being. For its WELL v1 certification, seven categories are set for the buildings’ performance assessment: air, water, food, light, fitness, comfort and mind. To qualify, buildings must fulfill the preconditions and optimize each category.

Good Nature Hotel Kyoto awarded WELL Certified Gold (v1)

In August, Good Nature Hotel Kyoto became the first hotel ever to be awarded WELL Certified Gold (v1). Good Nature Hotel’s high-spec air-filtration, infection control measures, cleaning methods that provides clean and safe room for the guests were highly evaluated. Indubitably, its beautiful and traditional interior design were also greatly valued. The hotel also offers wellness programs, developed a unique lighting technology for good sleep, and installed living walls made of Asiatic jasmine in the inner courtyard to provide comfortability and relaxation.
