Discovering a Sustainable Future from Japan

GOOD GOOD MEAT’s sustainable beef at new Kabuku Resort bistro

A 2014 survey showed that over 80 percent of consumers in the United States prefer food options that protect the environment. It becomes evident that there is a growing interest by modern consumers in the landscape of food sustainability.

Existing food and beverage businesses are incorporating changes to adapt to the shift in demand. At the same time, new companies are joining to contribute to the growth and promotion of sustainable living.

GOOD GOOD MEAT is a livestock venture capital firm founded by a group of meat lovers that used to be entrepreneurs in various industries such as trade, finance, and information technology.

The team searched for safe and delicious meat that they would be confident to serve their loved ones. They began their quest by visiting livestock farms around the world before finally launching GOOD GOOD MEAT. The latter served as an avenue for the team to share their discoveries with others. They do so by offering ethically sourced meats through wholesale and retail business.

This November, GOOD GOOD MEAT expanded its business with a bistro at Kabuku Resort located in Shima City, Mie Prefecture.

GOOD GOOD MEAT Ise-Shima Kabuku Resort is a steak bistro that specializes in grass-fed beef. It will be within Kabuku Resort, an integrated resort with an array of facilities such as glamping, barbeque and cafes.

The bistro takes pride in its sustainably raised grass-fed beef. The red meats served are healthy and flavorful, a diet suitable for low-carb diners. They also offer a hands-on cooking experience where customers can grill their meat on a teppan (iron griddle).

The increase in availability and accessibility to sustainable food options allow people to make better choices in their everyday lives. A sustainable dining experience is an approach to eating less of the right meat, translating to a reduction in one’s ecological footprint.
