PLAT PICNIC LAB.2026 coincides with MIDORI FES.2026, a cultural festival organised by Grand Green Osaka. The exhibition which includes a showcase to test various prototypes. One featured experiment is the Craft Scent Air Cannon, developed by Kirin Brewery and TOPPAN. It uses digital air cannon technology to launch specific scents of hops and fruit to targeted locations. Participants can also join a workshop to build their own cardboard air cannons to explore the park through fragrance.

Another activity, Moshimo Mushi 2 by 83Design, involves a workshop where participants evolve imaginary insect specimens. Visitors act as researchers, using clues left by previous participants to find rare parts hidden in the park. The evolution process is recorded online, allowing for continued observation and community voting on the various insect forms.

The Superhuman Sports Project will conduct workshops using sensors attached to traditional play equipment like skipping ropes and balls. This experiment compares how movement changes when physical actions are accompanied by sound.

PLAT UMEKITA is a platform operated by TOPPAN in collaboration with CINRA, Inc., Harch Inc., and the Graduate School of Project Design. The organisers intend to hold this event annually every May to continue the social implementation of new ideas born from corporate and community co-creation.
