Discovering a Sustainable Future from Japan

Ueno Station to welcome new social good coffee stand this Thursday

Social Good Roasters, a Tokyo-based initiative born from a welfare facility in Jimbocho, is set to provide their coffee experience at JR Ueno Station with the launch of a unique coffee stand on March 21. Positioned within the bustling confines of the station, this new venture promises to blend high-quality, sustainably sourced coffee with social responsibility, embodying the brand’s belief that “a cup of coffee can circulate good.”

The upcoming Ecute Ueno outlet will feature top-tier coffee roasted at Social Good Roaster’s Chiyoda plant, offering commuters and visitors an accessible premium coffee experience. With a commitment to ethical sourcing, the brand meticulously roasts pesticide-free, high-quality green beans obtained through fair trade practices. The stand will offer an array of five blends, available as drip coffee or espresso, alongside coffee beans and coffee bags for those on the go.

In addition to exquisite coffee, the stand will also retail specialty baked goods and bean-to-bar chocolates, developed in collaboration with Tokyo’s welfare facilities. These products not only promise quality and taste but also serve as ideal souvenirs, further promoting the concept of sustainable and socially responsible consumerism.

The proceeds from Social Good Roasters’ sales contribute directly to supporting individuals with disabilities and others facing employment challenges in the coffee production and roasting process. This initiative is part of the brand’s broader vision to foster a creative and inclusive community that benefits all stakeholders involved in bringing a cup of coffee to life. With a goal to employ 10 individuals with disabilities by March 2027, the brand is not just serving coffee but also brewing opportunities for meaningful social change.
