Nikko food truck features vegetable ice cream from recycled ceramics

NIKKO COMPANY will host the first food truck pop-up event for its circular food brand, BONEARTH FOOD MARKET, in the courtyard of the LOST AND FOUND store in Shibuya Ward, Tokyo, nxet week from 12 to 20 September. They will be introducing vegetable craft ice creams produced from crops grown using BONEARTH®, a mineral-rich soil conditioner made from recycled ceramic waste.

NIKKO established BONEARTH FOOD MARKET in April 2026 under the concept of “tasting the Earth”, extending its manufacturing philosophy of product durability into the food sector. The core mechanism involves crushing discarded tableware and ceramic production waste into a fertiliser that restores soil minerals. This process establishes a material cycle linking tableware, fertiliser, soil, agricultural crops, and the dining table.

The vegetable craft ice creams were developed in partnership with Handels Vägen, an artisanal ice cream manufacturer specialising in 100% natural ingredients. The event will offer six individual vegetable flavours: rocket milk, carrot milk, sweetcorn milk, beetroot milk, edamame milk, and kale milk. These flavours were previously available exclusively as a bundled six-piece set through online retail.

Alongside ice cream, the pop-up will sell fresh vegetables and rice cultivated with BONEARTH® fertiliser. NIKKO is also trying to engage families in its material loops, partnering with Mikka, a picture book library based in Kameari, Tokyo, to establish an on-site reading space throughout the event. On 13 September, the venue will hold a storytelling and music session designed to introduce children to natural cycles and food production.

Both BONEARTH FOOD MARKET and host venue LOST AND FOUND operate under NIKKO, combining durable houseware retail with circular food distribution.
