The product was developed to address the issue of food loss in Japan, where an estimated 2 million tonnes of fruit and vegetables are discarded annually for failing to meet market standards for size or shape, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. Re.BooooN! operates on the concept of giving new value to ingredients instead of discarding them. The company purchases non-standard produce from farmers at a fair price, transforming it into high-quality, handmade products.

The new Kyoho Grape Butter is the latest addition to their track record, continuing the principle of “the shape may be irregular, but the taste is the same.” The butter combines the rich flavour of Kyoho grapes with the smoothness of grass-fed butter, creating a product the company describes as having a dessert-like satisfaction. It contains no major additives.

Re.BooooN! aims to create a “Well-Food” experience for consumers. The brand seeks to provide an opportunity where “a delicious, fun product you choose actually helps solve food loss.” Previous products from the brand include strawberry butter, mango jam, and a savoury condiment made with sansho pepper and grapes.
