PASSTO service for Kanto region for bag reuse in January 2025

ECOMMIT, a company specialising in the collection, sorting, and redistribution of unwanted items, has teamed up with Sacs Bar to introduce an in-store collection program for bags and wallets. This program will run from January 15 to 31, 2025, at 30 stores across the Kanto region, aiming to reduce environmental impact and promote the reuse of resources.

ECOMMIT’s “PASSTO” resource circulation service will make its first appearance in the bag industry. PASSTO offers a seamless process for collecting, sorting, and redistributing unwanted items. This will provide customers with an environmentally conscious option to give their used bags and wallets a second life instead of discarding them.

To participate, customers simply bring their unused bags and wallets to designated stores. These items will be handled through the PASSTO system, either redistributed as reusable goods domestically and internationally or recycled through specialised facilities if reuse isn’t possible. As a thank-you, participants will receive a 500-yen coupon for every visit.

Eligible items include wallets and a variety of bag types such as handbags, tote bags, shoulder bags, backpacks, body bags, waist bags, Boston bags, clutch bags, briefcases, sacoches, and foldable Boston bags. However, items with significant stains, tears, or damage are not accepted. Additionally, once items are collected, they cannot be returned, and each customer is limited to bringing up to three items per visit.
