Fujifilm circular manufacturing centre in Philippines to remanufacture printers

Fujifilm Business Innovation Corp. has announced it will establish a new remanufacturing facility in the Philippines to accelerate its circular economy initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region. The new Circular Manufacturing Centre (CMC), located in Laguna, is scheduled to begin operations in August 2026. The centre will be dedicated to the remanufacturing of used multifunction printers collected from across the region.

At the facility, used machines will be disassembled to the component level. Parts will be cleaned and inspected, and only those meeting strict quality standards will be returned to the production line. After necessary components are replaced, the machines will be reassembled using the same manufacturing process as new models, ensuring they are delivered with a quality guarantee equivalent to that of a brand-new product. The company states this process can achieve a parts reuse rate of up to 84 per cent by weight.

The new centre will be established on the premises of FUJIFILM Optics Philippines Inc. (FOPH), a group company in the business of assembly of precision equipment such as digital camera lenses. Fujifilm will leverage FOPH’s highly skilled technicians and expertise in quality control to ensure a stable and efficient production system from the outset. The project will also focus on developing local talent for roles in the circular manufacturing process.

The country’s central location in the Asia-Pacific region also offers a significant geographical advantage for logistics and supply chain management, which is crucial for an effective regional resource-circulation system.
