Gateway to Sustainability in Japan

BRING opens Tokyo store showcasing circular design and sustainable fashion

The apparel brand BRING™ has opened a new temporary store in Tokyo where the principles of the circular economy are built into the very structure of the shop. The store, operated by JEPLAN Inc., launched on 12 September in the NEWoMan Takanawa commercial facility and aims to be a space where sustainability is made tangible.

BRING™ produces functional, all-gender apparel using BRING Material™, a recycled polyester derived from post-consumer textiles. While the clothing promotes circularity, the new store takes the concept further by using recycled materials for its interior design and fixtures. The shop counter and fitting rooms are constructed from boards made by REMARE Co., Ltd., which recycles marine and composite plastics.

In collaboration with recycling partner F&A NONWOVENS Co., Ltd., hangers used to display clothing are made from shoddy fibre processed from BRING’s own collected used garments. The in-store mannequins, produced by studio VIICON, are custom-made items that incorporate the store’s own discarded architectural drawings, demonstrating a commitment to resource utilisation. The store intends to be a place where customers can experience sustainability through direct interaction with circular design.

To mark its opening, the store will feature a limited collection celebrating the 40th anniversary of the film “Back to the Future.” Inspired by the movie’s message that “the future is what you make it,” the collection reinterprets iconic visuals across 11 items, including sweatshirts and T-shirts. This is the first in a series of planned collaborations, with pop-up events featuring brands such as HOZUBAG and WILD THINGS scheduled for October and November.

The BRING™ store will operate at NEWoMan Takanawa until 28 February 2026.
