Earth Cardboard launches high strength upcycled cushioning from factory offcuts

Packaging manufacturer Earth Cardboard Co., Ltd. has launched Cardboard Eco Cushion, a 100% cardboard cushioning material created by upcycling offcuts and surplus paper generated at the company’s factories. It provides a sustainable alternative to traditional naphtha-derived plastic cushioning.

With growing concerns regarding the supply of petroleum-based packaging due to geopolitical instability in the Middle East, Earth Cardboard has decided to develop this new product. Cushioning is essential for the safe transport of goods, but at the same time, the industry faces pressure to move away from plastic. Earth Cardboard addresses this by taking cardboard that would typically be scrapped and transforming it into a high-value packaging resource.

The Cardboard Eco Cushion features a mesh-like structure that provides substantial elasticity, allowing the material to fill gaps between boxes or wrap fragile items. Unlike standard paper cushioning, this product possesses the thickness and rigidity required to protect items weighing approximately one kg. Furthermore, the company employs German-patented machinery in the manufacturing process, ensuring that the cut surfaces are cleaner and more refined than similar recycled products on the market.
