Heritage Keeper LLC has opened Tsukui Shiro no Sato, a multi-purpose facility integrating nature, food, and accommodation, on 27 April in Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture. The site aims to revitalise the local area by creating a hub for satoyama experiences at the foot of the historic Tsukui Castle ruins. The facility comprises a cafe, a traditional stew restaurant, a guest house, and a dog terrace.
The restaurant, Nikomiya En-ya, serves stews and set meals using a unique blend of miso made from local Tsukui Zairai soybeans. This focus on regional ingredients supports the local agricultural heritage while offering visitors a taste of the area’s specific food culture. Additionally, a pop-up confectionery shop named Machiko is scheduled to offer freshly made mochi on the premises.

The accommodation, Busaoan Tsukui, operates as a private guest house limited to one group per day. The facility specifically targets cyclists, as the location sits near the former Ogura Bridge, which formed part of the Tokyo Olympics road race course. The guest house serves as a base for exploring nearby landmarks such as Lake Miyagase and Lake Tsukui, providing a tailored environment for the cycling community.

The facility also emphasises inclusivity for pet owners. The 44apartment cafe Tsukui includes a dog terrace and provides specific meals for dogs, allowing visitors to enjoy the rural setting with their pets. The site is adjacent to the Prefectural Tsukui Lake Shiroyama Park, which features extensive grounds and play areas, further integrating the facility with the local natural environment.
