The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto revives charity breakfast gifting joy to children

The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto has announced that it will once again host its annual “Charity Breakfast” on 17 December, inviting guests to enjoy a complimentary breakfast buffet in exchange for donating a Christmas gift for children in need across the city.

The initiative forms part of Community Footprints, the brand’s programme dedicated to social and environmental responsibility. Launched in 2017, the Charity Breakfast marks its seventh edition this year, having become a beloved winter tradition among Kyoto residents.

In 2024, when the hotel celebrated its 10th anniversary, 241 guests donated 395 gifts, which were delivered to children living in local care homes. The event reached full capacity early, underscoring its popularity and strong community support.

For this year’s edition, the hotel will continue to collect toys, books and other child-friendly items, each valued at around ¥5,000. For the first time, the gifts will also be distributed to children receiving medical support and their families at related facilities within Kyoto City.

Guests who bring an eligible gift will be treated to the hotel’s signature breakfast buffet in the serene atmosphere of the ballroom “TAKANE”, located on the second basement floor.
