Climate Reality Project Japan will host The REALITY® Tour Tokyo, an influential training event designed to empower future climate leaders with essential knowledge and practical skills to effectively tackle climate change. Scheduled over two days, 6 and 13 April 2025, the event aligns with global events commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement, emphasising ongoing urgency and commitment to combating climate change.
The REALITY® Tour is a global training initiative by The Climate Reality Project, launched in March 2024 in Paris, marking the Paris Agreement’s 10th anniversary. It spans multiple regions throughout 2025, aiming to strengthen community-level climate action globally. It has trained over 50,000 Climate Reality Leaders in 191 countries.

The programme is structured to offer attendees both international perspectives and localised insights, enabling participants to develop actionable strategies suited to their communities. It will be conducted in Japanese.
Day 1: 6 April 2025 (In-Person session)
Taking place at Tokyo’s Toshi Center Hotel, the first day features a special virtual keynote by Al Gore, former U.S. Vice President and founder of The Climate Reality Project. His session will utilise advanced AI translation technology from Metaphysic, making climate solutions accessible in 12 languages.

Additional sessions on day one will involve prominent local climate leaders, including Shigeo Kato (Japan Climate Initiative), Noriko Sugiyama (Global Covenant of Mayors Japan), and Kimiko Hirata (Climate Integrate). These experts will highlight cross-sector collaborations and analyse Japan-specific climate solutions. Youth climate leaders will also share innovative strategies aimed at mobilising grassroots climate initiatives.
The day’s programme concludes with networking and thematic workshops, designed to transform insights into community-driven actions.
Day 2: 13 April 2025 (conducted online)
The second day will feature a global panel discussion with prominent climate policy figures such as Christiana Figueres, former UNFCCC Executive Secretary, and Laurence Tubiana, CEO of the European Climate Foundation. This discussion will assess progress since the Paris Agreement and address contemporary global climate challenges.
Participants will also have the opportunity to join Climate Reality Project Japan’s Action Groups, which cover areas including policy advocacy, renewable energy promotion, and educational outreach, providing ongoing structured support to sustain momentum post-training.
Attendance on both days is required to fully benefit from the programme. Interested individuals must register by Friday, 14 March 2025. Full registration information can be found on the official Climate Reality Project Japan website.
