Patagonia Japan has launched its Regenerative Organic Agriculture School 2026, a free four-part online lecture series, held throughout September and October 2026, forms part of the outdoor brand’s broader Regenerative Organic Learning Series.
The school aims to bridge the gap between food production, daily living and planetary health. The organiser invites members of the public, students, business executives and government officials to examine how agricultural practices intersect with pressing environmental challenges.
The lecture series is designed as an entry-level programme accessible to non-specialists and agricultural practitioners alike. It has been running on weekday evenings, and the 90-minute online sessions cover the foundational principles of regenerative organic farming. Participants learn how agricultural systems influence soil health, water retention, biodiversity and climate stability. The lessons also examines the vulnerabilities of global food supply chains and the decline of rural communities, offering practical insights into how individual and institutional choices can support ecological restoration.
Patagonia International supported the establishment of the global Regenerative Organic Certified® standard and its governing body in 2017. The Japanese branch began implementing domestic regenerative agriculture initiatives in 2021. To further expand public awareness, they have hosted the annual Regenerative Organic Conference since 2023. Domestic milestones include supporting producers such as Niida Honke Aguri, which became the first entity in Japan to earn the Regenerative Organic Certification. The new online school builds on these efforts to make environmental education accessible beyond farming and academic circles.
