iCreate Corp. has launched a new blended tea named “ITADAKIMASU,” designed to establish a new pre-meal ritual that benefits both personal health and the environment. The tea promotes the concept of “shokuzencha,” or a pre-meal tea, intended to support wellbeing.
Japan faces a number of problems, not limited to the rise of lifestyle-related health issues and the agricultural pressures of climate change, soil degradation and abandoned farmland. The company developed the tea product in hopes that their tea could become a switch that helps regulate both people and the planet.
All ingredients for ITADAKIMASU are sourced from Japanese farms committed to sustainable practices. Its primary ingredient is mulberry leaf, a traditional Japanese superfood that has gained attention in recent years for its health properties. It comes from Kuwanosato in Yamanashi Prefecture, where its cultivation helps address the local issue of disused agricultural land. The blend also includes green tea from a farm in Yame, Fukuoka Prefecture, which has operated without pesticides for over 40 years, and fragrant organic lemongrass from a farm on the Goto Islands in Nagasaki that has avoided pesticides and chemical fertilisers for more than 50 years.
The project also organises community-building activities, including farm experiences and educational events, to raise awareness of the challenges farmers face and the importance of regenerative practices.
