Heralbony earns B Corp certification for its artist first business model

Heralbony Co., Ltd., a company promoting an “Art Lifestyle” by collaborating with artists with disabilities, has obtained the B Corporation certification, demonstrating high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. The certification, managed by the non-profit organisation B Lab, shows the commitment to balancing financial profit with the generation of social and environmental value.

The B Corp assessment evaluates companies across five key pillars including governance, workers, environment, community, and customers. The company performed particularly well in the community and workers categories, reflecting its foundational business practices.

Heralbony manages over 2,000 art pieces created by artists with disabilities. The company employs an intellectual property licensing model that ensures fair royalties are paid to the creators. It also maintains a system where employees across all departments communicate directly with artists and welfare facilities. Every project proceeds only after obtaining explicit consent from the artists, their families, and the associated facilities. This relationship building ensures that the artists’ intentions and dignity remain in commercial activities.

The company plans to strengthen collaborations with stakeholders across the supply chain, from raw material procurement to logistics, to reduce its ecological footprint and establish more ethical manufacturing standards. They intend to use the B Corp framework to continuously evaluate their decision-making processes and ensure their business contributes to a society where pride and dignity are retained alongside profit.
