Green Display., the brain behind Botanical Light, envisions this as an energy solution for the future. The concept is to generate electricity by tapping into electrons that are released into the soil and water during the life processes of microorganisms living symbiotically with plants.

Shibuya Hikarie has committed itself to support the advancement of Botanical Light. Their goal is to shine a light on the future from Shibuya and serve as a catalyst for change, starting from their community. The facility’s commitment is deeply rooted in contributing to a future society that is less dependent on carbon and promotes recycling.

The Botanical Light initiative will involve regular monitoring throughout the four seasons, observing the interplay between the changing plantings and the current values. The aim is to gather invaluable data that will pave the way for technological improvements, propelling the widespread adoption of Botanical Light as a viable energy source.
