NPO Learning for All, in conjunction with READYFOR Inc., is all set to offer financial support to entities focused on strengthening or launching initiatives aimed at creating safe spaces for children. This initiative is part of an approximately ¥300 million ($2.7 million) project titled “Emergency Support Program to Prevent Child Abuse Increasing due to Corona Price Hikes – Shifting from ‘Post-Measures’ to ‘Prevention of Occurrence,'” which utilizes dormant deposits.
The application process took place from April 10 to May 8, 2023, after which evaluations were carried out. As an outcome, ten organizations were selected as beneficiaries, bringing the total grant sum for this project to ¥230,540,972 ($2.1 million). The results of the evaluation are as of July 12, 2023, and are subject to change without prior notice.
This emergency support program is a joint venture by Learning for All and READYFOR, following the “2022 Support for New Coronavirus and Rising Crude Oil Prices/Inflation” implemented by the Japan Private Sector Public Benefit Activities Collaboration Organization. It offers 11 organizations grants using dormant deposits along with a running program.
The running program offers non-monetary support, including provision of knowledge about preventing child abuse, assistance with administrative cooperation for future operations, project management skills, digital transformation of operational tasks, and planning for fundraising and public relations.
Learning for All’s mission, supported by these grants, revolves around three primary goals: ensuring the continuance and expansion of safe environments for children, disseminating knowledge and best practices for managing these havens, and highlighting operational needs that have been overlooked as the government promotes the creation of such safe spaces.
In partnership with READYFOR, Learning for All plans to maximize the impact of these operations by pooling and leveraging their collective knowledge and expertise.
Updates on the outcomes will be reported on the project’s webpage.
