TSI Holdings Co., Ltd. has launched a biodiversity and natural capital initiative through its participation in the Ishikari River Basin Co-Creation Tour. Kamikawa Town in Hokkaido organised the tour from 7 to 8 October, bringing together cross-sector corporations, financial institutions, researchers and local government representatives.

The initiative builds on a 2021 comprehensive partnership agreement between TSI Holdings and Kamikawa Town for sustainable regional development, alongside an ongoing project to protect the natural environment and biodiversity of Daisetsuzan National Park.
The programme addressed corporate demand for nature-positive outcomes and reporting under the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures. Participants took part in fieldwork across local rivers and forests to identify operational intersections between business management and natural assets. The objective was to establish viable commercial schemes and carbon collaboration models.
A seminar that was held during the tour outlined scientific and economic frameworks for regional conservation. Daisetsuzan National Park Sounkyo Visitor Center addressed the requirement to conserve ecosystem, species and genetic diversity across Daisetsuzan and Sounkyo, which are designated as special grade A natural resources in regional surveys. A representative from partner Hokkaido University spin-off, Ezolink, discussed economic risks related to biodiversity loss and the application of state-certified Natural Coexistence Sites to secure international recognition and commercial alignment.

TSI Holdings plans to advance conservation and ecological restoration work across the Kamikawa and Daisetsuzan areas in partnership with Kamikawa Town. The apparel firm will share data and operational expertise with regional networks, academic researchers, municipal authorities and national environmental officials to establish long-term biodiversity projects.
