Zenbird Editorial TeamAsuene Inc. has partnered with Minowa Town in Nagano Prefecture to launch a corporate emissions tracking trial, providing its platform ASUENE and its training service ASUENE ACADEMY to five local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) without charge until the end of March 2027.
Minowa Town is an industrial and agricultural hub situated between the Southern and Central Alps. The municipality generates over 150 billion yen (approximately £780 million) annually in industrial shipments, primarily from precision machinery and electronic component manufacturers. As international supply chains place greater weight on greenhouse gas disclosure, regional suppliers face growing requirements to report their environmental impact.
Many smaller businesses, however, struggle due to a lack of technical expertise and personnel dedicated to carbon accounting. Regional manufacturers form the industrial base of many Japanese towns, but risk falling behind as corporate buyers tighten carbon accounting requirements across global supply chains.
Minowa Town has pledged to become a net-zero carbon city by 2050, and is introducing the CO2 Emissions Visualisation Trial to assist local enterprises with this shift. It will lower the technical barrier for regional businesses by combining software toolkits with structured educational resources.
ASUENE is an AI platform that automate Scope 1 through Scope 3 carbon calculations and assists with reporting standards such as TCFD, TNFD, and SBTi. Alongside the software, the ASUENE ACADEMY video platform offers structured modules to train employees in environmental management.
