Tokyo Rainbow Pride (TRP) will hold the Tokyo Pride 2026 on 6 and 7 June. The event adopts the theme “A Future Opened by Diversity and Equality.” This year’s milestone sees the organisers seeking to move beyond a temporary festival and establish the movement as a permanent fixture in Japanese society. The comprehensive programme includes a parade, a youth summit, an art exhibition, and a human rights conference.

The core of the celebrations remains the Pride Parade and Festival at Yoyogi Park, which will take place on 6 and 7 June 2026. The festival features booths from various companies and organisations alongside performances on an outdoor stage. On the second day, the parade will proceed through the Shibuya and Harajuku areas to advocate for the rights and dignity of the LGBTQ+ community. The stage will be hosted by personalities including Thelma Aoyama and Dorian Lollobrigida on the first day, followed by Miyu Nakagawa and Baby Vaggy on the second.
Following the parade, the focus shifts to Shinjuku Ni-chome for Pride Night on 7 June. This event takes place at venues such as AiSOTOPE LOUNGE and ArcH to celebrate the energy of Japan’s most prominent queer district. The organisers intend for this segment to provide a space for community connection through music and performance immediately following the public demonstration of the parade.
Education and the next generation are also focuses for this year’s event. Youth Pride will be held at WITH HARAJUKU HALL on 13 and 14 June under the concept “One Friend, One Love, One Future.” This programme targets teenagers and young adults in their twenties, focusing on fostering personal connections and providing a supportive environment for the younger generation. Additionally, the Human Rights Conference will take place at Ochanomizu University on 20 June, bringing together experts, activists, and community members to discuss legal challenges and the path toward true equality.
A key development for 2026 is the integration of the permanent community hub, Queer Space Tokyo, which opened in Minami Aoyama in January 2026. The hub will host the Queer Art Exhibition from 3 to 28 June, showcasing works by LGBTQ+ artists that explore identity and history.
The simultaneous release of all programmes allows individuals to choose a form of pride that resonates with them personally, designed to ensure that the message of diversity and equality takes firm root in society.
