Shibuya Miyashita Park to host City Green Fes 2026 ethical festival

The programme details for City Green Fes 2026 has been announced, slated to take place next place on 23 and 24 May at MIYASHITA PARK in Shibuya, Tokyo. It is an urban ethical festival that features the the theme of rewilding the city and the self, aimed at reconnecting urban life with nature through music, wellness, and circular economy initiatives.

The festival seeks to transition Shibuya from a consumption district to one focused on circulation. Organisers expect approximately 10,000 visitors over the two-day period, primarily targeting Gen Z and Millennial audiences. The venue design will incorporate natural materials and waste products to create an organic space that offers a respite from the urban environment.

Community action forms a core part of the event through large-scale clean-up activities. On 24 May, a collaborative plogging event will feature a 100-person run to collect litter across the Shibuya area. The festival site also includes dedicated waste stations and composting facilities to ensure a clean celebration that leaves no waste behind.

The programme includes a diverse ethical marche featuring over 30 brands. Participants can engage in upcycling workshops, such as creating accessories from marine waste and silk-screen printing. A circular market will allow visitors to bring usable items they no longer need and take home items for free, with remaining goods donated to support organisations. Furthermore, major corporate partners provide specific experiences aligned with biodiversity and health.
