The other day, when I used it while climbing a mountain, I was amazed by the convenience of reapplying sunscreen with just one hand. It was also convenient to carry it in a small pocket of my backpack. Moreover, it gives me confidence as it is scented with peppermint and eucalyptus essential oils, which are known to have insect-repellent effects. Although it is a waterproof formula, it’s helpful that it can be easily removed with soap after use.

OUTDOOR UV fulfills most of my expectations, but if I had one request, it would be for the container to be made of recycled plastic or biodegradable material. By the way, I was so impressed by its convenience when I used it on the mountain that I now keep it in my everyday shoulder bag and apply it whenever I remember. Truth be told, I struggle to use up a whole bottle of sunscreen, but I have a feeling I’ll be able to use this sunscreen to the last drop!

I discovered Badger sunscreen, a natural cosmetic brand from the United States while doing an online search. It contains 98% organic ingredients, and the container is a can. It has received third-party certification called “Protect Land + Sea Certified,” which proves its commitment to protecting the sea and mountains. The label also states “Reef Friendly.” Designed for outdoor use, it is a waterproof formula with SPF50 so you can trust its effectiveness as a sunscreen.

The actual texture is a slightly firm cream. I take a small amount on my hand, warm it up with body heat, and then apply it to my skin. It gives a strong sense of adherence to the skin, so it seems ideal to apply it before going to the mountains or the sea. In my case, I apply this sunscreen in the morning before mountain climbing, treating it like a makeup primer, and then reapply the OUTDOOR UV stick sunscreen during the climb.

If I were to mention a minor drawback, it would be that it cannot be easily removed with just soap and requires thorough cleansing. Additionally, it is not widely available in Japan yet.
