Discarding furniture in the house is something we often come across, but what about discarding furniture in the office? Businesses are bound discard their office furniture at a some point, like when they want to move to a larger office. But so often this is done without giving it a lot of thought.
Often there is only a limited amount of time. Businesses rush to choose a purchase trader, make negotiations on prices and hand the items over. But did you know that there is an easier, smarter and most importantly sustainable way of discarding office items?
Tricycle Co. Ltd. has developed the app ReSACO, a flea market app. The app provides a platform for recycling used office furniture, store equipment and farm machines. The app reduces the burden of disposing office items such as computers, desks, shelves and the like, that they no longer need, selling them to those who need them. For while there are people who want to discard such items, there are always people who are looking for them. For these people, this app is convenient for they can get their hands on them second hand at a relatively low price.
The price of each item is automatically estimated by IBM’s AI supercomputer Watson. Simply take a photo of the item you wish to sell with your smartphone and add some information. Watson will then price the item based on the given information, which buyers can use for judging their purchase.
Furthermore, businesses can negotiate easily by chat through their smartphones. Even the payment is secured safely. ReSACO forbids buyers to make direct payment and instead stands between the seller and the buyer. Payment is done through ReSACO’s account, so sellers will only receive the amount after buyers receive the items. This reduces the risk of theft or fraud.
Think about the waste that can be reduced with this matching service! Flea market app ReSACO is a leading example of how we can give life back to items no longer needed. We’d be contributing to the circular economy, which is beneficial for both the environment and business. Imagine the amount of waste we’d reduce, and how beneficial it is for the environment if we have apps in other areas of our lives.

Yes, it will be very useful for foreign companies in Japan too!
It’s an app that’s easy to understand too, so hopefully more businesses will learn of such alternatives.
