LivhubADDress, a residential subscription service, has launched a new pricing plan starting last month, allowing members to enjoy multi-site living for as low as 9,800 yen per month. The plan is based on a flat rate system and is priced according to the number of days used. Members can switch plans every month, making it a more convenient pricing plan.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, remote work, telework, and workations have become more common in companies. ADDress has seen a more than tenfold increase in its membership compared to January 2020, indicating a growing trend of people seeking freedom in their work and living locations. However, some companies require employees to come into the office several days a week, and certain jobs may require in-person attendance. Additionally, some people may only be able to leave their homes for a few days a month due to responsibilities such as childcare or eldercare.
ADDress conducted a survey of around 120,000 e-mail magazine registered members who were interested in living in multiple locations, and found that the primary reason for this was to experience places that they wouldn’t typically visit while on a trip, with 52.65% of respondents selecting this option. The second most popular response, at 46.87%, was to experience the daily life of the local area that cannot be experienced through sightseeing. According to the same survey, 37.45% of respondents wanted to use the service within 5 days a month, while 29.25% wanted to use it within 6 to 10 days. In response to these needs, ADDress has introduced a new pricing plan called the “reservation ticket system,” which is priced according to the number of days of use and can meet various needs.
Under the previous plan, members could hold a “simultaneous reservation ticket” for 14 or 31 days with a monthly fee. This ticket could be used as much as desired by making reservations and was replenished as it was used during the stay. However, the new plan’s “reservation ticket” is a one-time-use ticket, so members cannot stay longer than the number of tickets they hold. Unused tickets can be carried over to the following month, allowing members to use them all at once for an extended multi-location living experience. Additionally, the plan is a flat rate, and members can change their plan every month, allowing them to obtain the freedom of multi-location living and change their plan according to their remote workdays and holidays, while considering their annual plan.
Introducing new additions to ADDress’ accommodation list
As of January 25, 2023, ADDress’ multi-location residential platform offers 260 properties in 47 prefectures across Japan, from Hokkaido to Okinawa Prefecture. There is a wide variety of unique accommodations available, including old traditional houses, co-living spaces, villas with hot springs, apartment complexes, refurbished sleeper trains, shared houses, guesthouses, hotels, inns, and campsites. ADDress plans to introduce new properties and expand to over 1,000 locations in the future.
Okinawa Kunigami Village A House Okinawa
One of the newly added properties is in partnership with the “YANBARU HOSTEL” in Kunigami Village, Okinawa Prefecture, which is a registered World Natural Heritage Site surrounded by nature. The 47-year-old hotel that was closed for business has been renovated, and there are various amenities on the first floor, including table tennis, billiards, and bouldering, as well as a shared kitchen on the second floor.
Kyoto Fushimi A House, Kyoto Prefecture (scheduled to open in spring 2023)
Another property is a former student dormitory located in Fushimi, a city known for its history, water, and sake. The facility opened in 2019, but only private beds for contracted members were available. However, the property has since been renovated, and reservations can now be made. It is conveniently located near Kyoto Station and just a two-minute walk from Kintetsu Tanbabashi Station. The large historic house was built over 60 years ago and can accommodate multiple people, making it an excellent choice for those who want to experience the traditional Japanese lifestyle.
Hirono A House, Fukushima Prefecture
The Hirono Town property is located near the J-Village Stadium, the mecca of soccer, and has free washing machines and dryers available, making it an ideal choice for long-term stays. Hirono Town was severely affected by the 2011 tsunami and is still recovering, but it offers an opportunity to experience a rapidly evolving community and to connect with people.
The new ADDress pricing plan allows individuals who have been interested in living in two or more locations but unable to do so, to start with a few days a month. Through ADDress, people can experience unique and unusual lifestyles, meet new people and explore new regions, and find potential migration destinations.
