Do you do anything to stay healthy? A popular way to tone the body and mind is yoga. Yoga is especially popular among women because it is easy to engage with even while going through changes in one’s physical and mental condition due to menstrual cycles and different life stages. Here are three unique yoga studios/classes in Japan aiming to improve women’s wellness.

Yoggy operates yoga studios, “Studio yoggy” in major cities in Japan and online yoga classes, “Yoggy air,” with the philosophy of supporting people’s well-being with yoga. At the end of 2022, Yoggy started offering a unique program for 6-week to 1-year postpartum women at Meguro studio in Tokyo.

Experienced instructors and physiotherapists developed the program. It focuses on recovering abdominal muscles and pelvic floor muscles which get weakened or damaged after giving birth. Studios also offer free babysitting for 0 to 1-year-olds while you attend classes. The studio is also a great place to meet other mothers and talk about postpartum issues and parenting.

In addition, Yoggy offers information about pregnancy and postpartum as well as exercise videos that you can do online while you are pregnant. From 2023 onwards, Yoggy plans to roll out this program in all studios nationwide, so check it out!

Zen Place creates space to organize your mind

Zen Place operates pilates and yoga studios in Japan as well as online classes with the goal of making Japan’s well-being the best in the world. Online classes are interactive live streams, so instructors teach you through video.

Rather than simply providing a place where people can exercise, Zen Place strives to create a place where people can face their own minds and bodies to meet their true selves. Therefore, Zen Place has designed an original yoga program focusing on meditation so that participants can learn how to live positively and achieve their own well-being.

In December last year, Zen Place held an innovative event where visitors could communicate with popular pilates and yoga trainers and enjoy classes in the metaverse. A second metaverse event is scheduled for February 22, so don’t miss it!
