Nagoya City will host the 15th Annual World Fair Trade Day Coffee Summit on Saturday, 3 May at Hisaya Odori Park. The city celebrates its 10th year as a Fair Trade Town, embracing the theme “Take a Step Towards a Fair Future”.
Coffee enthusiasts will have the opportunity to sample up to four brews from a selection of over 30 varieties offered by 27 dedicated vendors. General admission is priced at ¥2,000, which includes an exclusive event mug, while returning guests benefit from a reduced fee of ¥1,500 if they bring their previous mug. Students are further encouraged with a bonus ¥200 Fair Trade Coin upon presenting a valid student ID, which can be used both at the event and at participating stores.

Alongside the coffee tasting, a fair trade market will also be offering 24 stalls with a range of ethically produced goods, from food items and sweets to handmade crafts. This area will also feature a number of booths run by students, providing an engaging mix of local lunch options and unique artisanal creations.

The event further enriches the day with live presentations and performances. A dedicated stage hosts discussions and talks by student groups, local businesses, and vendors sharing their firsthand experiences on ethical production, sustainable development goals, and upcycling. Organisers are also planning a bingo game where participants can win fair trade products and organic snacks.
